Advisor: Dr. Erin R. Vogel
Prior to arriving to Rutgers as a student, I worked as a field assistant in Central Kalimantan, Borneo, Indonesia collecting orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus wurmbii) urine samples, nutritional intake data, and social behavioral data. In my spare time, I volunteered for Erin R. Vogel's environmental education program (sponsored by Rutgers and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service).
Wildlife conservation-ecology, non-human primate physiology, environmental education outreach, anthropogenic affects on orangutan populations.
My current research entails analyzing orangutan urine for indicators of physiological and endocrinological responses to habitat ecology, seasonal nutrient availability, social stress, and particularly in varying infant/offspring dependency affects on mothers.
