Advisor: Dr. Ryne Palombit
I am interested in the evolution of reproductive strategies in primates and the co-evolution of these strategies in males and females.
I will be conducting my dissertation research on olive baboons (Papio anubis) at my advisor’s field site in Laikipia, Kenya. I am studying the mating tactics that male baboons employ to maximize their reproductive success with females. I am interested in how males use both coercive and affiliative tactics in order to gain access to mating opportunities and how these tactics may depend on varying individual characteristics of both males and females.
