  • CURRENT PROJECTS:

My current project in Vanuatu investigates the relationships between market integration, social structure, and health. I collect data on physical activity, energy expenditure, immune biomarkers, anthropometry and growth (height and weight), and socioecology to address questions about the functional trade-offs between growth, immunity, and energetic availability. The project examines how market integration impacts physical activity, immune function, and growth. I aim to develop a comprehensive understanding of how the human body responds to change through biological and cultural adaptations and the role of culture and ecology in shaping health and behavior.

  • RESEARCH INTERESTS:

Human behavioral ecology, life history theory, developmental plasticity, metabolic adaptation, evolutionary medicine, and cultural evolution.
