I graduated in 2019 from Northern Arizona University with dual degrees: a B.S. in Geology and a B.A. in Anthropology. I have received a Graduate Certificate in Human Origins from the Turkana Basin Institute field school in 2020. After 4 years of working as a cultural resource management archaeologist for the private sector, I was accepted as a master's student at Rutgers Earth and Planetary Sciences department. My expected graduation date is spring 2026.
- CURRENT PROJECTS:
My master's thesis is focused on the sedimentological analysis of the late Miocene site Lothagam within the Turkana Basin. Specifically, I will be looking at the evolution of the river system within the site and will be identifying the triggers which caused the river's morphology to change over time. Outside of my research thesis, I am participating in the Turkana Miocene Project which endeavors to reconstruct the paleoclimate of the Miocene Epoch in the Turkana Basin. Geologists, paleontologists, and climatologists are working together to understand this under researched period in Turkana's history.
- RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Human evolution, paleontology, paleoenvironments, sedimentology, facies analysis, remote sensing.
