  • ACADEMIC BIOGRAPHY:

I hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Biological Anthropology and Evolution from the University of Antananarivo. My research has concentrated on the roles of environment, genetics, and evolutionary history in shaping modern humans. Initially, I studied the environmental influences on human biology, and later I focused on the population genetic structure and Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) within the population of Madagascar.

I joined the PhD program in Anthropology at Rutgers University in the Fall of 2025.

  • CURRENT PROJECTS:

My doctoral research will investigate children's susceptibility to acute respiratory diseases in Madagascar. I aim to explore how evolutionary history and biology, together with environmental factors, influence disease susceptibility using omics.

  • RESEARCH INTERESTS:

evolutionary biology, natural selection, metagenomics,  population genetics, respiratory diseases, and infectious diseases.
